Who's who in the Cast and Crew

Ryan Austin (Ralphie Hilliard) Ryan is a freshman and this is his first Genesian production. Along with Genesian Players, Ryan is involved with the Swim team, Student Council and is on the Cross-Country team. Learning to be a better actor is Ryan’s favorite aspect of being a Genesian.


Lloyd “Bear” Badeaux (Dan Hilliard) Lloyd “Bear” Badeaux, a senior, is in his 4th Genesian production at Rummel. He was in Forum, Mousetrap, and most recently The Crucible. Bear spends most of his times concentrating on Genesians but he also does writing as part of the writers club. In the future, he hopes to pursue a career in acting. Bear says, “ My favorite part of being a Genesian is the fact that we are a family and that we get to learn from some of the best directors around.”


Rebecca Bayer (Ms. Swift) Rebecca, a sophomore at Archbishop Chapelle, is in her debut performance on the Genesian stage. She attended Atonement Lutheran for grammar school from kindergarten to 7th grade and worked props for The Crucible. Along with Genesians, Rebecca is involved with Ambassadors, Student Council, and Track at Chapelle. Her favorite part of being a Genesian is having a real sense of family. Even though she is relatively new to this group she already feels like she belongs.


Ross Britz (Dan Hilliard) The only five year member of the Genesians this year, Ross is a member of the Genesian Executive Board. A senior, Ross enjoys the Genesians more than any other activity. His other Rummel activities include Big Brothers, Track and Field, Operation HeadStart, and Student Council. Genesians has been a very meaningful experience for Ross and he is extremely grateful for having been with it and Mr. Guajardo for so long. This is Ross’ advice to up and coming Genesians, “Listen to Mr. G. Even though he sounds crazy at times, he knows what he’s talking about.”


Stephen Cazenave (Thomas Winston) Stephen is a sophomore at Archbishop Rummel, and this is his first Genesian production. The friends he has made, and being able to have fun on stage are his favorite aspects of being a Genesian.


Stephanie Childress (Eleanor Hilliard) Stephanie is a sophomore at Dominican and attended grammar school at St. Paul’s Episcopal. This is her first Genesian production. Along with Genesians, Stephanie attends NOCCA for the dramatic arts, has been pursuing classical piano for eleven years, and pitches for the softball team. Getting to meet and perform with other people is her favorite aspect of being a Genesian.


Melissa Failla (Props) Melissa is a senior at Cabrini High School and is a first year Genesian. Along with Genesians, Melissa is also involved with Ambassadors, National Honor Society, and is a Eucharistic Ministry. The chance to meet new people and become such a close family with everyone is her favorite aspect of being a Genesian. Melissa notes, “I am so glad to be part of the crew and working on my second show with everyone. I love you all.”


Hailey Fox (Props) Hailey is a senior at Archbishop Chapelle High School. She recently performed in The Crucible. Her other school activities include the Photo Manager for the Yearbook, Student Council, Soccer Team, Bowling Team, and Track and Field. Haley’s favorite aspect of being a Genesian is the opportunity to work as a team.


Andy Hughes (Chuck Wright) Andy, a junior, is in his fourth Genesian production. He was previously seen on the stage in The Crucible and worked props for Picnic. Along with Genesians, Andy is also involved with Student Council, the Humanities class, and Campus Ministry. One of his favorite Genesian moments was having a whole speech about cows in The Crucible.


Kevin Jones (Samuel Robish) Kevin, a senior, is in his first Genesian production. Along with Genesians, Kevin is also involved with Mock Trial, S.T.U.D.S., and Quiz Bowl. The chance to play characters very different from himself is his favorite aspect of being a Genesian.


Ashleigh Keelen (Eleanor Hilliard) Ashleigh is a Chapelle senior but is making her second performance on the Genesian stage. Her activities at Chapelle include Varsity Soccer Team (captain), Historian of Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, Mission Club, and Thalians. She is also involved with Showstoppers. She enjoys Genesians because it has been a fun way of getting to meet new people as well as a way to further her knowledge of theater arts.


Caitlyn Louviere (Cindy Hilliard) Caitlyn Louviere is a sophomore at Dominican High School and in her second Genesian production. She attended St. Matthew the Apostle Middle School. Caitlyn was previously seen in The Crucible. She is also an active member in Dominican’s Student Council, National Honor Society and Christian Leadership Council. Her favorite aspect of Genesians is the sense of family between the cast and crew members.


Matthew Martinez (Lt. Carl Fredericks) Matthew is a Rummel sophomore and has been in Genesians since his eighth grade. His first play was The Wizard of Oz, He was also in Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Matthew lists as one of his Genesian moments making the snowfall in Mousetrap. He notes, “I love being part of Genesians and hope to be in the club until I graduate.”


Nicholas Michler (Harry Carson) Nicholas is a senior and was recently in The Crucible. At Rummel, Nicholas is involved in Campus Ministry, S.T.U.D.S., and is an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.


David Morris (Glenn Griffin) David is a senior and is chairman of the Genesian Board.  This is his 9th production.  David is also involved with Student Council, HeadStart and Big Brothers. 


Natalie Retreage (Student Director) Natalie is a senior at Chapelle. This is her third Genesian production. She was previously in The Crucible and Mousetrap. Her favorite aspect of being a Genesian is the unexpected experiences and fun that come with working in the theater.


Matthew Rigdon (Mr. Patterson) Matthew is a freshman and a first year Genesian.  He previously played Hopkins is The Crucible.


Brad Rovira (Jesse Bard) Brad is a senior and this is his second Genesian production. He is a graduate of Memorial Baptist Christian School of Metairie. He was previously seen in Picnic, and worked props for Lend Me a Tenor. Along with Genesians, Brad is also involved in Operation Headstart, Campus Ministry, and National Honor Society. Meeting new people and portraying someone else are his favorite aspects of being a Genesian.


Shelley Schexnayder (Harriet “Harry Carson) Shelley, a graduate of Kehoe-France School, is a junior at Archbishop Chapelle. This is her first Genesian production, but at Chapelle she has most recently appeared in Crimes of the Heart and Comedy Tonight! Along with Genesians, Shelley is an honor student who holds membership in Chapelle’s Drama Club and Chorale. Shelley also assistant-teaches at Metropolitan Dance Theatre.


Katherine Schluter (Ms. Swift) Katherine is an eighth grader at Archbishop Chapelle High School, and last year she attended St. Mary Magdalene School. The Desperate Hours is her second production with the Genesian Players. Her debut on the Genesian stage was The Crucible. At Chapelle, Katherine is involved in Student Council, Pro-Life Club, and Impressions. She enjoys being a part of Genesians, and, in her opinion, the atmosphere is truly terrific.


Laura Schulze (Cindy Hilliard) Laura is a junior at Archbishop Chapelle and this is her seventh Genesian production. She was previously seen on the stage in Wizard of Oz, Picnic, and The Crucible. She has worked behind the scenes for Lend Me a Tenor and Mousetrap. Along with Genesians, Laura is involved in C.A.V.E., Ambassadors, Retreat Team, and many more clubs. Laura’s favorite aspect of Genesians is not only the art of Drama, but also the people she gets to work with!

Josh Stover (Hank Griffin) Josh is a senior and this is his second Genesian production He was previously seen in The Crucible. He went to grade school at St. Matthew the Apostle. Along with Genesians, Josh is also involved with Mock Trial, Philosophy Club, and is trying desperately to start a film club. The opportunity to hone his craft and work with talented people is his favorite aspects of Genesians.
