Cast Profiles

Charmaine Kirkland Allesandro (Judith Bliss) most recently played the role of Claire in last summer’s alumni production Rumors. Charmaine graduated from Chapelle in 1971 (Student Council President and Miss Chapelle 1971). She was a Genesian 1968-1971. Charmaine received the Best Supporting Actress Geni for her role as Rosemary in Picnic and the Best Actress Geni for her portrayal of Mrs. Frank in the Diary of Anne Frank. She also received a Geni for Best All Around Female. Her favorite roles were Corey in Barefoot in the Park and the Wicked Witch of the West in Wizard of Oz. Charmaine is a registered nurse with a Masters Degree in Health Administration and is employed by Children’s Hospital as the Executive Director of the Greater New Orleans Immunization Network. She and her husband Phil have been married for 30 years and have three sons, Jason, Justin and Jeffrey and a new daughter-in-law, Amy. “Returning to the stage last summer after 34 years was a scary venture but one I will never forget. It brought back so many fond memories of what Genesians meant to me so long ago. I feel blessed to work with Mr. G again ( I got older, he got younger) and truly appreciate what he has done for this organization and for me. Genesians helped me to develop self-confidence at a very young age and inspired me to be successful in all the roles of my life.”

Lloyd Arbo (David Bliss) a 1971 graduate of ARHS, was last seen on the Genesian stage as Lenny in last summer’s production of Rumors. Lloyd married Ginny Beckendorf and has four children, Christy, Allyson, Julie and Lloyd III who will be a Junior at ARHS this upcoming year. At present Lloyd is employed at Albert-Garaudy and Associates, Inc., a local consulting engineering company, where he is the General Manager of their New Orleans operations. “I came back to perform with the Genesian players as a pastime to reduce the stress in my life and have some fun. I guess I had forgotten how stressful rehearsals could be as Mr. G has not changed in the almost 40 years I have known him but in the end it all came together and was an extremely wonderful experience. My wife and children got an opportunity to see me perform and I had an opportunity to rekindle old friendships and work with some extremely talented young actresses and actors.”

Lori Andignac Borne (Myra Arundel) last performed in the Genesian 2004 summer production of Rumors as Cassie. Lori graduated from Archbishop Chapelle High School in 1979 and then went on to receive her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University. At present Lori is employed with LSU Medical Center as a Clinical Therapist. She is married and has two children, Brad and Emily. “My incredible memories of being a Genesian through my high school years has brought me back to perform on stage with the Genesian Players. I will do it again and again, as long as Mr. G will have me. Thank you for more wonderful memories!

Natalie Boyd (Sorel Bliss) was last seen on the Genesian stage as Claire Ganz in last summer’s alumni production of Rumors. Presently, Natalie is a theatre major at UNO. She has kept herself busy these past six months having appeared in JPAS’ productions of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, and Overall Productions’ Guys and Dolls (Miss Adelaide). The biggest reason Natalie has for returning to the Genesian stage is for another chance to get to play with the “old cast.”

Kathryn Claverie (Judith Bliss) was last seen on the Genesian stage as Cookie in last summer’s production of Rumors. Kathryn is an alumna of Archbishop Chapelle High School, where she is currently employed as the choral and drama director. She attended the University of Mississippi earning degrees in Music Education and Theatre. She is also the Assistant Director of the St. Louis Cathedral Choir and Vocal Chairman for the LMEA District VI Choral Directors. “I immediately feel at home on the Genesian stage. In such a small space, you can create the biggest characters and make the fondest of memories.”

John Giardina (David Bliss) was last seen on the Genesian stage in last summer’s production of Rumors. While at Rummel he received two Best Supporting Actor Genis for Barefoot in the Park and Hay Fever (Richard Greatham), Best Male Technician for his prop work on Little Shop of Horrors and was nominated for Best Actor for his role in View from a Bridge. Other plays included Detective Story and Montage of Time (a Mr. G original). John attended U.N.O. and currently is part-owner of John’s Tuxedos. John is married to Renee’ Calcaterra and together they have three girls: Courtney, Brittney, and Lynsey. “I came back to perform with the Genesian Players for the camaraderie of new and old friends.”

Dayna Johnson (Clara) last graced the Genesian stage as Cookie, in last summer’s production of Rumors. In 2002, she won the Best Supporting Actress Geni for her role as Grandma in Lost In Yonkers. Dayna graduated from Chapelle High School in 2003 and currently attends LSU, where she is majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Theater. Along with fellow Genesian Jessica, Dayna made her first appearance on the 59th annual Tony Awards this past June. “I love coming back to perform with the Genesians. It’s the one place I can guarantee myself some good laughing.”

Lindsey Lanson (Jackie Coryton) was last seen in the Genesian production of Mousetrap as Mollie, for which she received Best Actress. A 2004 Chapelle graduate, Lindsey is majoring in nursing while keeping active in several theatre courses at LSU.  “Genesians was my favorite high school experience. The memories and relationships I have gained through Genesians have kept me returning to participate in productions like this.”

Kasey Matthews (Myra Arundel) a 2004 Chapelle graduate, was last seen as Chris Gorman in last year’s Alumni production of Rumors.  Kasey is currently studying psychology and pre-medicine at LSU.  When she becomes a psychiatrist in 50 years, she can diagnose all of her crazy fellow cast members with whom she spent the summer.  “It’s been rah-ther interesting and always fun!”

Marel Medina (Sandy Tyrell) a graduate of 2004, was last seen with the Genesian Players in Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. After high school, Marel enrolled at the University of New Orleans. Besides trying to live a healthy life, his plans are to continue to study acting and theater. He would like to thank his family and close friends for their loving support. “The Genesian Players is a great starting ground for learning more about theater as well as many other things. There are just so many great people in this organization.”

Bob Roso (Richard Greatham) was last seen on the Genesian stage in last summer’s production of Rumors.  As an English teacher, Bob has always felt that the experience he had as a Genesian is the thing that best prepared him for the classroom.  “Why did I come back again this year? Simple, I had such trouble learning my lines last year that I wanted to make sure senility hadn’t kicked in yet.”

Jessica Salamin (Sorel Bliss) was last seen on the Genesian stage as Cassie in last summer’s production of Rumors. During high school, Jessica was in five Genesian productions and won a Geni for her performance in Odd Couple. She graduated from Chapelle, and is presently attending UNO on her way to medical school. Jessica and fellow Genesian Dayna Johnson were also featured on this year’s 59th Annual Tony Awards Show on CBS. As to why she returned, Jessica notes, “I have so much fun performing with all of these amazing people on stage, and I have so much fun laughing with them off stage.”

Rachel Sentilles (Jackie Coryton) was last seen in the production of Mousetrap and claims that her favorite Genesian role will always be Gymnasia, the pink courtesan in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She graduated from Chapelle in 2004 and is now an Interior Design major at LSU. Rachel would like to dedicate her performance to her aunt, Laurie Spako, who never missed Rachel’s performances. “Nanny, I’m really going to miss hearing your crazy laugh from the audience, but I  know you’ll be watching.”

Michael Tramontin (Simon Bliss) was last seen as Lenny in last year’s summer Genesian Booster Club production of Rumors. After attending all four years at Archbishop Rummel High School, Michael went on to AMDA, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, in New York, where he recently graduated. He is currently unemployed. “The Genesians are a family... and it’s a great experience for me to work with the people who were trail blazers for this wonderful program.”
