Joshua Bernard (Josh) Ever
since he went to his first theater production of Oliver at
the Saenger Theater, he has always wanted to be on the stage.
Joshua is involved in many clubs at Rummel including Student
Council, Latin Club, and Raider Ambassadors.
Once he heard about Genesian Players he couldn’t wait
to audition. This is
Joshua's first Genesian production, and he hopes there will be
many more to come!
Ryan Bonfanti
(Assistant Stage Manager) This is Ryan’s fourth production that he
has been a part of since joining Genesians, and this is his first
non-acting role since joining. He most recently played the role of
clean freak extraordinaire Felix in The Odd Couple. He
wants to wish all of the actors in Godspell good luck and
congratulates them on all of their hard work in putting this show
on. He will also be shouting out “The rug’s over there!” as much
as possible to brighten up the actors’ days.
Emily Borne
(Emily) is a sophomore at Archbishop Chapelle and is
head-over-heels excited to be closing the Genesian season with one
of her favorite musicals. This is her fifth Genesian production,
and she was most recently seen as Cecily Pigeon in the season
opener The Odd Couple. Emily has been performing since she
was eight, and loves everything about theatre. She would like to
thank her family, the cast, the multiple Claveries, and her
amazing friends. Emily’s favorite accessories include a hippie
band and tambourine.
Lauryn Gilardi
(Lauryn) Though Lauryn was happy to be a senior and finally be
leaving Archbishop Chapelle High School and moving on to LSU,
Lauryn was sad that she was making her finale performance in the
Rummel Genesian theatre (sad face). Lauryn had participated
in so many other performances such as The Song of Bernadette,
Brighton Beach Memoirs, Our Town, 3-in-1,
Charlie’s Aunt, and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown
(everyone loves a cuddly blankey!). Genesians was the
highlight of Lauryn’s high school years and without it Lauryn felt
Lauryn would be thrown into a dark oblivion without seeing this
wonderful theatre every single night of Lauryn’s life. But
Lauryn, being the cheerful girl Lauryn is, looked at the positive;
Lauryn thanked the Lord, Jesus Christ (no, not you Will) for
blessing Lauryn with Lauryn’s Genesian family. Lauryn also
thanked Lauryn’s family and friends for supporting Lauryn though
Lauryn never gets flowers (cough cough), Mr. G whom Lauryn misses
dearly, and the Claverie clan for being the most awesomest family
ever! Lauryn will hold Lauryn’s Genesians memories such as
uncontrollable British accents, awkward hands, crossed eyes,
strange sounds, and what I’ve never been on the roof! How dare you
accuse me of such things! Lauryn encourages everyone who is
able to join the marvelous family which is Genesians. Lauryn
is EVERYONES favorite short person. The End.
Will Hoffpauir
(Jesus) is a junior at Archbishop Rummel. This is his third
Genesian production. You may recognize him as Schroeder the
purple-striped pianist from You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown
or Big Roy the accountant from The Odd Couple. You may also
recognize him as Will Hoffpauir. Besides Genesians, Will is
involved in several other extracurricular activities at Rummel.
These include: Lifeguards, Mass Band, French Club, and Matthew 25.
When Will is not doing schoolwork, Genesian stuff, or anything
else at school, he spends his time hanging out with friends,
playing guitar, standing in the freezing rain, warming hands,
riding his bike along the lake, pondering the vast mysteries of
the universe, eating Hoffcorn with his fellow Hoffborne, and other
such awesome things. Will would like to thank everyone involved in
the production of the show, especially the Claverie clan and the
lovely Miss Brauninger (along with her lovely assistant, Mr.
Bonfanti). Will would also like to thank Lauryn Gilardi, for all
the rides to practice and just for being the awesome person that
she is, and his ever-amazing Uncle Stephan, for his continuous
support in all things Genesian-related or otherwise. Will would
like to add that he is “uber-excited” about this show and that he
will miss everyone “enormously” after it is over.
Jesse Karmazin
(Jesse) is a junior at Archbishop Rummel high school and this is
his fourth show as a Genesian. You may have seen him as either the
Devil or Snoopy in the fall and spring performances in the 08-09
season, or as Oscar Madison in last falls’ performance of The
Odd Couple. He would like to thank everyone who took the time
to read this bio, seeing as he was threatened to turn one in
before 9’oclock, five nights past due date. Ah well at least he is
keeping busy. So yea, he feels as if he should put more down.
Ahem, did the show start yet? Oh, well then I won’t keep
you. Jesse hopes that
you enjoy the Genesian spring production of Godspell!
Claire Laurent
(Claire) is a senior (finally) at Archbishop Chapelle High School
and the only five-year Genesian this year. Since this will
be her last show with the Genesian Players, she wanted to have an
obnoxiously long, hilarious, and well thought out bio, but she
waited to write it until 11 p.m. the night before it was due as
she has done with all of her bios for the past 5 years, so it will
just be obnoxiously long and very sentimental. Claire would
first like to start off by saying how thankful she is for
Hurricane Katrina since without it, she would probably not be a
Genesian at all. She thoroughly enjoyed dancing and singing
her heart out in her first Genesian musical, Grease, as an
8th grader in 2005 with the wonderful Mr. Guajardo. Other
shows that Claire has done at Rummel are The Song of Bernadette,
Our Town, Charley’s Aunt (partially directed by Mrs.
Maureen. Thank you, Mrs. Maureen, for continuing that show
for us.), The Marriage Proposal from 3-in-1,
You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and The Odd Couple.
Claire would like to thank Mr. G for helping her to realize her
true calling in life, to be a high school drama teacher. It
is because of him that Claire has had the courage to audition for
many directors at numerous colleges, although none of them can
beat the “constructive criticism” of Mr. G. Claire would
also like to give a shout out to Ms. Claverie for being the best
choir teacher/musical director/showstoppers sponsor/college
audition helper ever and for giving her time so generously over
the past 5 years. And of course she has to thank Mrs. Judy,
the magical costumer. But who could forget the men who kept
the Genesian Players together? Claire would like to send a
special thanks to Mr. Claverie and Trey for keeping the Genesian
spirit alive for Mr. G. Her final thanks goes out to her
parents, for driving her to rehearsal from Laplace every night her
first 3 years in Genesians, and to JK, EB, PP and JD, her Genesian
family, for making the 30-minute drive to and from rehearsal worth
it every year. This show’s for you, Mr. G. I hope I
make you proud.
Cristina Lopez
(Christina) This is her first Genesian production and she is
lovin’ it! She has been in many other plays, though. Cristina was
recently seen in Archbishop Chapelle's plays The Second Best
Bed and The Final Dress Rehearsal one year ago. She is
also a part of the theater club, Thalians, and in the choir with
Ms. Clav. She loves the cast (and of course, Mr. Clav. as well)!
This is her first musical theater production in YEARS so she is
completely STOKED to be in it!
Ashley Monaghan
(Ashley), or ‘Monomanom...’ called by her cast members is a
freshman at Archbishop Chapelle High School. This is her debut on
the Genesian stage, and she looks forward to many more shows with
the Genesian Players! Ashley is involved in ‘Showstoppers’,
Student Council, Impressions, and other clubs/activities at
Chapelle. Ashley has
also performed in other shows outside of Genesians.
Ashley has a slight obsession with Lipton Iced Tea and
elephant necklaces. She is excited to work with the cast, crew,
and the Claverie Clan. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Alys Murray
(Alys) is excited to make her Genesian Players debut in
Godspell! Recently, she has been in Les Miserables,
Into the Woods, West Side Story, and Smokey Joe’s
Cafe. When she is not on stage, thinking about being on stage,
or preparing to be on stage, Alys loves to draw on her jeans,
drink Diet Coke and shop for new Converse. Alys would like to
thank her fellow Genesians and Mr. Claverie for teaching her the
electric slide. Thanks, Genesians! I love you guys! Alys would
also like to thank her mother and Derek for driving her to and
from Baton Rouge everyday so she could be apart of this amazing
show
Julieanne Natal
(Julieanne) is happy to be a part of the last Genesian show of her
high school years. Julieanne is a senior at Archbishop Chapelle
high school and has loved working with the cast of Godspell
for the past weeks. Julieanne will always remember her beloved
nicknames bestowed upon her during rehearsals including “nay-nay”,
“jay-nay” and her favorite “baby spice”. Julieanne would like to
thank the Claverie clan for allowing her to make great memories
with the Godspell cast!
Josh Rodriguez
(Josh) This is Josh’s second performance with Genesians. His
debut role was as “Speed” in The Odd Couple. Josh is
proud to be playing “Josh” in Godspell and working side by
side with Jesus W. H. Christ, and Josh would like to thank his
family, friends, the cast, Dominique(love of his life), his weak
back, and red bull for giving him “high energy” for the show.
THANKS.
Ray Shall
(Ray) is a junior at Rummel, and Godspell is Ray’s debut
performance with the Genesian Players. After watching his friends
Will Hoffpauir, Jesse Karmazin, and Josh Rodriguez in The Odd
Couple, Ray decided to audition for the musical, much to the
encouragement of his family, his friends, and his English teacher,
Mr. Dupré. Ray is in the Rummel Latin Club and is also the captain
of the Rummel Quiz Bowl team.
