Joshua Bernard (Richard) Josh is a senior and
his fifth production with the Genesian Players. He is very
excited to be back for a new season with old and new friends. Josh
has been in other Genesian productions such as Godspell (Josh),
Rumors (Ernie), OKLAHOMA! (Ali Hakim), and
The Real
Inspector Hound (Moon). Josh would like to especially thank Mr.
Borel for taking up the position of Genesians’ moderator and
keeping this great tradition alive. Thank you to all who come and
see the show, and to the cast, break a leg!
Emily Borne (Clarisse, Nov. 11, 13, 17, & 19)
Emily is finally a senior and celebrating her 9th Genesian
production! She has been involved with Genesians since 8th grade,
and can’t believe this is her fifth and final year. Last season
you may have caught her as Cynthia Muldoon in The Real Inspector
Hound, Laurey Williams in the winter musical OKLAHOMA!, or Cassie
Cooper in the fall comedy Rumors. When Emily isn’t acting or
singing, she’s usually found hanging out with her hosses, playing
the ukulele, or being a crazy cat lady. She would like to thank
Mr. Matt for all of his hard work, and for making this production
possible.
Samantha Eshleman (Angel, Nov. 17-20) Samantha
is an sophomore at Cabrini High and her fourth play with the
Rummel Genesian Players. Last year she was in Rumors,
OKLAHOMA!, and The Real Inspector Hound, and is excited to be
working with everyone again. She would like to welcome
Mr. Matt back to Rummel as the new director and is happy she has
the opportunity to work with him on this show. Samantha
would like to thank God, her parents, family and friends for all
their support and encouraging her to follow her dreams.
Thanks to Emily for always giving her rides. Special shout
out to her fellow cast members, “Break a Leg!”
Courtney Giardina (Clarisse, Nov. 10, 12, 18,
& 20) A freshman at Chapelle, Courtney made her Genesian debut
last season in OKLAHOMA!. This past summer she performed with JPAS
in Guys and Dolls.
Devyn Lambert (Angel, Nov. 10-13) Devyn is a
junior at Chapelle and this is her second Genesian production. She
thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the ensemble in OKLAHOMA! and
spending time with all of her fellow Genesians. She is glad to be
back in the Genesian Theater and looking forward to participating
in future productions. At Chapelle, Devyn is also a member of
Chorale, Showstoppers, NHS, Mu Alpha Theta and many other clubs.
When she is not busy with activities at school, you can find her
hanging out with her friends (who gave her the amazing nickname,
“The Devynator”) or playing her guitar. Devyn would like to thank
Mr. Matt Borel, the cast and crew, and all her family and friends.
Hope you enjoy the show!
Kateri Leonard (Cheryl, Nov. 17-20) is a
sophomore at Riverdale High School. This is her second play
with the Genesians but Kateri has been in other plays, The
Misunderstanding, Egghead, The Troop de Jour, Don’t Drink the
Water, The Trial of the Wicked Witch, The Real Inspector Hound and
is more than excited to be apart of When You Comin’ Back, Red
Ryder?. She would like to extend special thanks Matt Borel
for being an amazing director, Ceasar Rico, her family for their
continuous support and prayers, and how could she forget all of
her wonderful, amazing friends in the audience cheering her on? -
especially Joelle Lorenzo, Katie Horchoff, and Michael Ceraso.
Last but not least, she would like to thank God for bringing her
to where she is now and she hopes that you will enjoy the show!
Nick Matta (Lyle) Nick is junior and a part of
the powerlifting team and the ping-pong club, his first play with
the Genesians, and his first time on stage. He would like to thank
his parents and fellow cast members for all the help and support
he has received through this experience. He looks forward to being
a part of future Genesian productions.
Abigail Ramirez (Cheryl, Nov. 10-13) This is
Abigail’s first year as a Genesian but feels like she’s known this
cast and crew forever. She is a junior at Chapelle and also
participates there in Advanced Chorus, Showstoppers, Track and
Field, The Chipmunk Project, The Literary Club, and her church’s
CYO. Currently she is working her way into the film and television
industry and would like to thank Devyn for keeping her on time and
her Mom for driving her to and from rehearsal. She hopes you
enjoy the show!
Gary Rhoden (Clark) Since 1974 this former
Genesian Players’ president (and now fourth grade teacher in
Jefferson Parish) has been seen on stage at the Contemporary Arts
Center, Tulane Center Stage, The Eddie May Mysteries, and most
recently, Le Petite Theatre’s production of Annie. He and
sends out a huge thank you to Lisa and Shannon for their support
in juggling their schedules—love y’all-- and much love also goes
to all Genesians, past, present and future.
Karl Schulze (Teddy) Red Ryder is Karl’s
second show for the Genesian Players following his previous
performance last year in OKLAHOMA!. He is a junior and
competes in Tennis, Track & Field, and is the Rummel mascot, Rufus
Raider. Karl is excited to return to the stage and hanging
out with his friends as the crazy war veteran.
Matthew Stout (Stephen “Red” Ryder) is a
senior at Archbishop Rummel and Red Ryder is his second
performance as a Genesian. With his previous appearance as an
ensemble member in OKLAHOMA!, Matthew is excited to take on the
role of Stephen. He owes it all to Joshua Bernard for getting him
out from behind his computer and getting him to audition last
year, and has been grateful to him ever since. Matthew would like
to thank his mother for all her support, his cast mates for being
like family and just plain awesome, and especially Mr. Matt for
making this whole production possible.
